98.5% of rapist are identified as men. 1 in 10 women aged between 16 and 24 in the past year have been sexually assaulted and 4.9million women in the UK have been a victim of sexual assault in there lives.

In an ideal world there wouldn't be any need for Women’s Self Defence, and undoubtedly the problem lies with the people that commit these crimes, however until the world changes and rape culture is deleted forever, people are still at risk from these types of attacks.

Rape as a subject is a pretty bleak one, it’s filled with anxiety and fear. Generally we don’t want to talk about it because it can trigger all sorts of feelings of vulnerability and disempowerment. For that reason, we want to hide from the subject and hope it never happens

Hoping is not a strategy

By confronting it you can begin to empower yourself by building strategies and learn skills
