Pros and cons

but just before we do we need to go over some ideas and impotent notes

Level 1 Self Defence

Keynote

Inflicting pain and be a good way of escaping or creating opportunities to escape

However, pain is not a variable we can measure

Meaning, if you hit two diffent people with the same strike and power, they would both experience different levels of pain.

Throw in alcohol, drugs/meditation or reggae, we can't rely on pain as a form of escaping.

The only thing we can relion on is a reflex response and levage, to create some type of confusion, worry or opportunity to escape

This is worth remembering

Like potting someone in the eye, if but, for a moment they flinch or their eyes start to water, impairing their vision so you can escape or hit them somewhere else, like the balls, or stamp on their knee

Aside from the reflex response, we can also incapacitate their movement by damaging or breaking a limb or taking them uncouses

Unfortunately, many of there's techniques require more training and skill in order to be effective.

However, there are a few options for you listed below

Sometimes you won't always need the most aggressive moves but in terms of a need to know to keep you safe, for the worst case scenario, they work and work great!!!

However the more exspresined you become and the more you learn, the more effective you’ll be

Going back to this again

92% of all womens that are attacked in the uk are attacked by a guy who they know

In gentle the means that there are social and physiological issues when faced with someone you know trying to do something illegal to you

The counter to this, is to learn a range of striking and grappling skills that can not just help you escape but restrain and control

The latter proticaly applies to guys who you know.

Pressure Test

At some point you should do this, get someone to try and do something to ‘play’ fight with or spare so you can respond

We run them regularly in are sessions and workshops

Some key pointers

  • You still need to practice the teniques, witch you can do if they other person doesn't give you a chance to do

  • You need to build the intensity up slowly

  • There needs to be elements of spontaity. Again this needs to be done in stages

  • To start with the levels of aggression needs to be controlled, and at some point you can gredulary increase the levels as you become more confident and compitent

  • You need to know how hard you can hit, and how hard you need to hit to move someone, however you want need to hit that hard to step on someone's leg, but learning to use your hold body is a skill, and one you need
