3.7 The Groin kick

When you are slightly away from the assailant, this kick comes in handing but shouldn't be your main strategy

What to hit with:

When people think of the groin kick, they often think of using their foot. However, for the purpose of not damaging your foot and then having to run on it, we will use our lower shin/upper foot

  1. Use the bottom part of your shin and the top of your foot (unless you have pair of DM's on)

How to do it:

  1. First, bring your knee up as high as you can bring it

  2. Then fully extend the leg at the knee

  3. Snap the leg back to its high knee procession

  4. Then return it to the floor

Pros:

If the opportunity is there, it's a great kick that can put the person down

Cons:

Being in the right position to deliver the kick effectively is somewhat unrealistic/idealistic.

The range for this kick is further away from the assailant. This means its potently easier for them to block or move out the way

Tip:

Use a floaty of strikes to the face while moving yourself into person to deliver the kick effectively
